Neurology & Stroke Clinical Guidelines

Neurology and stroke guidelines index: AHA/ASA, Neurocritical Care Society, AES, ILAE, AAN, and Brain Trauma Foundation guidelines with edition and source.

Editorial responsibility
The Clinical Database

This index lists the professional-society guidelines that govern neurology and stroke practice, with the publisher, the current edition, the stated scope, and a link to the source for each. It is the source list from which this department’s guideline syntheses are being built. The parent hub is Neurology & Stroke.

How the guideline series are built

Each series on this site is a synthesis, not a summary of a single guideline. The relevant professional-society guidelines for a topic are read together, their recommendations integrated into one clinical reference, and every substantive statement carries a numbered, DOI-linked citation back to its source. Long syntheses are split into sequential part pages so each part loads fast and is individually citable. Every page carries a published date and a lastmod date in its metadata; when a source society issues a new or updated guideline, the affected series is revised and its lastmod advances. Each series is reviewed by clinicians before it publishes. This department’s series are forthcoming and will be linked here as they are published.

Frequently asked questions

What is in the neurology and stroke guidelines index?
A table of the professional-society guidelines that govern acute stroke care, stroke prevention, status epilepticus, cerebral edema, severe traumatic brain injury, and antiseizure medication in pregnancy, each with publisher, current edition, scope, and a link to the source.
Where are the neurology guideline syntheses?
They are forthcoming. The site’s guideline series are multi-society syntheses with DOI-linked citations, split into sequential part pages, each carrying a published date and a lastmod date and reviewed by clinicians. This department’s series will be linked from this page and from the Neurology & Stroke hub as they publish.
Should this index be used in place of the source guidelines?
No. The index identifies the governing documents and their scope. Recommendation-level content lives in the source guidelines linked in the table and, once published, in the reviewed syntheses. Local protocols and medical direction govern actual care.
